Just had quite a hefty amount of Avios refused after buying insurance from Confused.com
The reason? Because I claimed the two £10 vouchers for fuel that they offered me after I bought the inusrance.
I do understand that discount codes, and that sort of thing, can result in Avios not being awarded.
But I was taken by surprise at this one.
Something to bear in mind if buying insurance through the BAEC shopping.ba.com portal!
That’s covered in the ‘what you need to know’ section: “Rewards will not be given if you claim a Confused.com Reward or any other offer or voucher”
No harm in highlighting for others though, well done.
I will have to believe that it was in there when I made the transaction. I am usually so careful to read that bit. The cynic in me thinks this clarification may have been added in after Confused.com ramped up the promotion of their rewards. I suppose it feels a little bit different as usually it’s all based on Last Click Attribution. And the reward is offered well after the insurance is purchased. So definitely something to be mindful of!
It always seems to be the insurers who don’t pay up the points . I complained directly to Compare the market who to their credit rebated £35 cash

It was in there as of January when I took out my policy with them. The Avios are still pending for me, so fingers crossed they arrive!
