Return trip LHR-LAX 30/11 is 690,000 points and £995 in tax!! Wow
Am I right in that unless every seat is sold out, then there should be points availability?
I think they are still updating!
This game is dead!! As is any reason to fly Virgin or hold the VS credit card

I would wait, still being updated. Points look wrong, the reward page has a 15k for outbound and 20k for inbound, yet when you try and book those dates, it comes with 45k. I would wait until this afternoon.
There appears to be some substantial improvements on points/pounds cost of redemptions if you’re flexible with dates. From what I’m seeing so far, I’m happy!

Can you quote some examples with dates
I booked some flights with Virgin to MCO next summer during school holidays 2 days ago. Now 4 times more expensive
Someone remind me again – What is Virgin Miles now called (DELTA sky peso! equivalent)???
1st March – 8th March. LHR-JFK. Upper Class.
58,000 points. £669 “taxes & fees”.
5th March – 11th March. LHR-MCO. Upper Class.
76,500 points. £844 “taxes & fees”.
I’m presuming the points cap for the vouchers applies for upgrading 2 one way flights too. So if the points difference is 75k between premium and upper class then you would need to pay the points for premium for 2 people plus the 75k that isn’t covered by the voucher?
As expected, anyone with families is stuffed.
The pricing makes no sense though.
As an example, LHR-TPA for May half term:
Economy only: 776,000 plus £900 taxes.
If you equate that to roughly £8-9,000, then it’s cheaper to pay cash: same flights = £4,000 in cash
Just for fun: Upper is 1.8 million points plus £4K taxes.
Madness!

This game is dead for those who want to travel during school holidays!! – ftfy.

Depends – Easter holidays and even this December pretty decent points for Dubai for example. US in Summer is not great!
EDI – MCO return next September. 154,000 + £822 Taxes (Apparently Saver rate…)
I booked a flight last night as I’m tied into dates. LHR-LAX return in September 25. Premium out and upper back. 2 adults, a reasonable 190,000 points. Today the exact same flights are available but for the princely sum of 794,000. I think I’m checking out of the virgin ecosystem at this point.
I’ve only just started purposefully collecting virgin points to help with the cost of flights during school holidays to Orlando. Looks like I needn’t have bothered 😂 I may still try and get companion vouchers
A cc voucher worth 75k points isn’t going to be an awful lot of help by the sound of it!
I don’t think the issue is just limited to school holidays or busy routes. Even more broadly, the saver seats seem to be far and few and only limited to Wed/Thurs etc. It’s all a sham.
I started collecting VS points because of the direct flights from MAN. So far I’ve used points on 2 VS sectors, 2 x AM ones and one DL, not really my original intention 😂
This morning in Economy: “We have 9 redemption seats available still on this flight, 25k + $153”
This afternoon: “150k + $93 :-)”
Two days ago 20 September 2025 LHR-JNB single upper 57500 + £592 now 215000 + £547. Game over.
How does the upgrade voucher work if the premium price is 49k points and upper class is only 29k? Presuming you’d use it as a 241 instead? This seems pretty bonkers
Seat spy alerted me to a one way Upper Class Barbados to Heathrow 21st Jan now 350,000 miles plus cash…
Yes , 350,000 Miles each – ONE WAY
Surely these are just glitches with the new changes rather than actual pricing…
Happy with my 65K for one way premium yesterday for the 3 of us + a lap baby (with half a companion voucher). Showing as 502,500 now.
Doesn’t look like we’ll be upgrading from economy to premium on the way out if it’s not a glitch.
