Forums Payment cards American Express Welcome and referral bonus

Hello and apologies if this has been asked elsewhere on the forumns.

I’m looking to get the platinum charge card this month after my 24 month period passes so I can get the welcome bonus.

My friend has an amex and I’ve asked him to refer me as I would get 35k points, but would I also get the 30k welcome bonus, so taking it to 65k for spending £4000 in the first 3 months?

    Thanks

No, 35k is the total welcome bonus you’d receive.

Not sure where the rules stand on sharing referrals on here but I’ve currently got the 70K bonus on my Platinum referral, if you want it?

is that 70k for the new user (after spending a target) or for the person referring?
I would be interested either way

70k for the new cardholder after hitting the spend target

Right ok, I thought the welcome and referral would stack as they are two different.

I would be interested in the referral but also not aware of the rules or how that could be shared.

Etiquette around here is to ask @rob if he has a referral available. You as new cardholder get the 70k for hitting the spend target. The referrer also gets their own bonus (amount varies) as soon as you are accepted for the card.
