Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club VS voucher and changing return leg on ticket booked prior to Oct changes

OK, Possibly a bit specific, but does anyone have any experience / knowledge attempting something similar…
I booked a return upper class from LHR to LAX using points for PE and then upgraded with a voucher to UC prior to the flying club changes.
I may want to change the return leg… Now I know if I try to change now, it reprices both legs, however, if I change the LAX – LHR after I have flown the outbound… A) is that still possible, and B) what cost in points should I be looking at on return leg to avoid paying any additional points?
I’m silver, so if the voucher is worth 75k points ( each way, I believe), do I need to be looking at lowest saver value of PE + 75K , or the price I paid for PE + 75k??? or something else???

    Hope that makes sense

    Thanks

Fundamentally, it depends whether they want to re-price it. If they do, they may choose to re-price based on historic pricing, which would likely benefit you. You’d also need to pay the change fee – they might use the historic £30ish or the new £75ish for that, but I can’t imagine £45 is going to be what makes or breaks this for you. I’ve certainly changed sectors after flying the outbound, so it’s perfectly possible. If I were you, I’d give Flying Club a call and chat to them about it. If you call business hours, you’re likely to get Swansea, and they’re generally top notch.

Thanks Al, Yes the change fee isn’t really the issue. I’ll give them a call and see what they say.
    Happy New Year
