Just to add…. I assume this is not possible, but worth an ask.

Looks like it’s now gone, for now… will it return for later in the Summer is the question.

Hoping for September or October dates myself. Any word on the street they’ll release more dates???

I will likely use Curve to pay the final $ bill on the ship.

I thought about doing that, but am concerned that the final billing may go through on a Sunday where curve charges 1.5% forex. Therefore I added a fee-free card as the defaults, and might go to sailor services and make a payment on Curve for the bulk of the balance on the Friday… if I can be bothered! If not, it’ll go through on the default card.

Hmm good shout, maybe pay down the bulk of the tab on the Friday and then mop up any bits on the Sunday.

It is entirely possible to put the bar tab on your Amex – Would the insurance consider that part of the trip though? Hard to say.

Did you put the flights on it? From memory that will cover you for all parts of a trip.

Virgin have launched a Buy Points bonus offer which takes the cost of 78k points to £915 (or 97.5k for £990).

This runs til the end of July, and the redemption offer for a cruise for 80k virgin points is on Virgin Red with an ‘Ending soon’ banner.

1p per point sale is as good as it gets.
These cruises are now genuinely available to all for ~900 of points purchasing. If you were waiting to take the leap on purchasing points – now is a good time to do it.

We’re on the 16th July cruise and would like to book a private tour to Ephesus when in Bodrum. Anybody like to join us to share the costs?

I don’t see this offer/sale, is it targeted?

    370 posts

No indication it was targeted, but the ‘usual’ way of buying points certainly seems to just load the normal points.com page and pricing.

The email takes you to this page, with the promo code instead:

    https://storefront.points.com/virgin-atlantic/en-GB/buy?promoCode=VaaF60

Log in to Flying Club, then give the link a click.
Interesting to see if it works for all.

Thanks @travel strong but unfortunately link doesn’t work for me, I get a “page can’t be found” error and then links back to the standard points.com page & pricing

Hopefully will be extended, or I figure out another way to add the promo code

Ha, I had actually totally forgotten about the flights! Yes, I paid for them on Amex. Should be good then?

Question for those mentioning having two Access Keys – were these purchased via two separate Virgin Red accounts, or can one account buy two Access Keys?

Can’t see anything in the offer T&Cs saying one per customer, but can imagine the option to buy a second might just be greyed out after buying a first.

    Thanks.

Well it isn’t greyed out for me and I’ve bought one.
No reason at all to expect it to be 1 purchase only.

I got two Access Keys from the same account no problem. One at a time. Just repeated the same buying steps within a couple of minutes of each other.

Well, sometimes the planets and the stars just align! Avios availability opened up for matching flights to BCN in the last couple of days. VV status matched our Royal Caribbean level and this afternoon our minimum upgrade bid won a Brilliant Suite! Turning into the bargain of the decade! Thanks Rob.

Very slow! Just about OK for emails but often drops out.
Premium wifi package available for $175 for the week which they say is suitable for streaming.

    How is the on-board Wi-Fi?

Sailed last week on Resilient Lady, had no problems with Wifi anywhere, didn’t even use the premium upgrade we had with Deep Blue Perks. We weren’t downloading but it was fine for sending short videos on WhatsApp etc.

Re Wi-Fi – Currently on Valiant Lady and having a great time!!! Basic Wifi is ok’ish….However, we had a status match and I forgot we had premium which costs $75. On basic I could not watch Youtube but with premium its fine to watch and they say you can stream with Premium and its pretty good.

What happens if you book the Virgin cruise with points but day before travel you have Covid and report this to Virgin on the App (health check pre travel).

    Has this happened to anyone?
