Was meant to be flying to HKG in easter – but just received an email to say that Virgin are suspending the service. They mention they’ll provide a refund or travel voucher. I believe I am entitled to a replacement flight – should I just call up and ask them to arrange this for me?

Yes – you’re entitled to a re-route on another carrier. I suspect that calling up to ask is the best way to do it, but you might want to have investigated options first to better determine which alternative flights might work for you best. You won’t be able to dictate which airline / flight times you want to be on, but if you suggest some options that you’d be happy to take it might work out for you.

I kept my VS miles when many sent them to Hilton. I have no interest in going to the US, so Hong Kong was one of the few alternatives that did interest me. I planned to use them to Brazil, but they culled that route. So now do I wait and try to use them on Vietnam Airways or transfer them to Hilton?
