OH stayed at the Warrington one occasionally when he was working there, and I’ve done a spa day at the one in Bury. I think they’re pretty solid but nothing very fancy. Think standard wedding venue-type places, with a pool and a pub/bistro-style eatery attached, IIRC.

Leeds North or Leeds South ?
I’ve stayed in North. Not my cup of tea. Overrun with children attending various clubs, stag and hen parties and lots of associated noise. Cheap though . I’d say the standard was similar to Premier Inn. Neither of them are in central Leeds. The north one is more or less Headingly so 15 mins in a taxi to central Leeds.

Stayed at the Villagio in Ashton under Lyne when working there a few years ago. Perfectly fine for week night business stays can’t comment on what it’s like at the weekends though.

Never been hugely impressed, but been a while since I stayed at one. I do recall an amusing advert for the Village Hotel Hull landing in my inbox. Its USP? ‘Only 40 miles from York’

Village Hotel Leeds North? About half a mile north of where the student area stops. If you’re just visiting your kids at Leeds Uni it will be adequate, inexpensive and almost certainly close to where they live. If you’re taking your better half for a special treat then think again. Weetwood Hall is just a little further out and just a little nicer, so unless having a pool is factor, I’d consider there if prices are similar.

EDIT: sorry – posts crossed and see it was actually South. Yeah, Premier Inn with a pool is a fair description of the chain generally. For the right price, it will do a job.

I’ve stayed at the one in Cheadle with work, I can’t stand the place. Walls are paper thin and the bar had an awful atmosphere. As far as Leeds is concerned I can’t comment on the Village, but if you do look at the Weetwood Hall as mentioned by @TheSavageSquirrel make sure you book a room with AC. It’s a reasonable hotel with a good pub in the grounds but it gets really hot in the summer and you’ve got noise from the pub when in an inside room and from the road if outside.
