    ‘VIC* card transaction – Fraud

Heads up, just seen a purchase from yesterday on my card for £154.44 and was down as ‘VIC*’and thats it, called customer service and they said it was a card magnetic swipe on a card machine in London (i stay in Glasgow). 95% of my purchases are via Curve so most of the time my actual BC is left in the house so have no idea how it was done (cloned or otherwise).

Asked them if i can turn off mag swipe like other banks like Starling i think that you need to tirn it on and it goes back off automatically after a couple of hours.

They cancelled mine and player 2 card, 5 days before i see the charge refunded. Why is BC so slow??? I swear, if it was not for the points i would have ran away and never looked back!

Are you sure it wasn’t Vit*?

    Vitracash was hacked yesterday.

There’s a statement on their community forums. I had three transactions totalling around £420 taken.

I emailed them and they promptly processed a refund. 2 refunds already received. The last one is Barclaycard so will probably show up tomorrow or Friday as they’re slow to process such things.

You need to email them and they’ll refund.

Edit: Barclaycard just refund came through from Vitracash. Transactions normally post around 10pm.

I’m not sure why people have got too involved with Vitra. The firm doesn’t really have the infrastructure/IT, financial backing or management experience to deliver what otherwise sounds like a potentially interesting story.

Yes Steven you are right, BC are dealing with it now but will look at vit website (you’d think BC would know about this).

JDB, found that i had their app but kept crashing so never used (think i was looking at a curve alternative at the time).
