Last March I booked flights to New Orleans, business class, for March 22 using Avios and an Amex Companion voucher which was due to expire on 31/3/22. BA have just cancelled the flights.
If I get a future travel voucher (which seems my only option) I presume that voucher can only be used for flights where there is Avios availability? Will the expiry date remain 31/3/22 in which case I will have not much chance of finding anything available?
Grateful for any light that can be shed on this as future travel vouchers resulting from cancelled Avious/241 flights seem very opaque to me.
If BA have cancelled you have free reign to rebook for whenever you like, no Avios availability needed.
If you do take the voucher the 2-4-1 is locked in it even if it is past the expiry date of the original 2-4-1.
And yes if you take an FTV then there does need to be avios availability on whatever route you chose to use it on.
But as SteveJ says you have rights for a rebooking on the same route on a future date without there needing to be avios availability.
