Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Using Barclaycard voucher with Reward Flight Saver

  • 9 posts

On ba.com, there doesn’t seem to be an option to change the amount I am willing to pay as part of the Reward Flight Saver and only offers me the lowest £1 option. Anyone else experienced this and is this just an IT error or a restriction when using the voucher? Thanks!

I believe its a restriction of the voucher

It’s the reason both my wife and I scrapped both the Avios Plus cards and Premier banking. It was bad enough they can’t be used to upgrade to First, but we thought we’d burn them on Club Europe. The fact you HAVE to pay the “worst-value-per-pence” Avios fare means we’ll probably just let them lapse

Thank you both. Not a particularly valuable perk at all then. With the cost of taxes now flying long haul from London and how cheap it can be from ex-EU with partners, I can’t ever see myself using the voucher for long haul either. I’ll crack on and use it and take the quasi-£100ish worth of benefit! I do still rate the Barclaycard for it being far easier to rack up points against Amex. Best off using the free card alongside Amex BA Plus I reckon.

Yes it’s very poor for RFS. The best use of it is for long haul, but only if you don’t need a domestic connection, because that also causes problems!
