Does anyone know about US alcohol regs on flights? If you take a bottle of alcohol into the US in a hold bag, does it have to be unopened? I want to take a bottle transferred into a plastic bottle for weight reasons but the TSA site seems to suggest it has to be unopened and in its retail bottle, but I’m not sure if that is just for bottles brought on from duty free and doesnt apply to checked in bags.
Also, if you have 1 bottle do you have to declare that on a customs form? If so, does that also apply if you take a bottle on a US domestic flight? Google is turning up conflicting info!
You have to declare it and how is CBP going to know what it is if not in the original bottle?
