Received titanium bonvoy status in Dec going to AUH tomorrow so first time utilising membership
When I was a plat member I could see in the app to see whether I was lucky enough for a room upgrade as it often updated 24-48 hours prior to checking in
For my check in tomorrow , no movement in the app .Website still selling higher room cat
Never been to UAE so not sure if things are done differently however would u say it’s unlikely I’m going to get an upgrade as nothing has changed or
……
Status was earned visiting Asia where there usually great upgrading elite member’s
Upgrades ahead of physical check-in are hotel specific, but yes, some regions have a higher chance of success. Most upgrades are processed overnight, so I’d check again tomorrow. However, my advice would be to check-in as normal and see what they give you there and then. You can double-check what’s available on the app beforehand as you approach the front desk.
Upgrades pre trip in the app can be totally random everywhere, including in UAE, some will show in the app, some wont, but as Platinum I have always had an excellent upgrade in UAE on arrival.
I actually stayed at the new Marriott Marquis on Dubai Creek in November, booked an entry room and checked the app daily for an upgrade. Nothing showed until check-in, when I was promptly given a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 2 floor apartment!
