I booked a flight for 4 of us recently, but now need to cancel. It gives the option to get a credit voucher. Does it need to be used for all 4 passengers or can I use the entire credit for myself? I am not registered for their flying program. It’s unlikely we’d be travelling together again for some time.
So, if i recall correctly, they will issue a travel voucher code per person. But the codes are transferable.
Thanks Blair. It seems that credit for tickets booked after August 2021 are not transferable so not sure if I will be allowed to use 4 credit voucher codes to book one ticket. Will check with United.
Ah that might be the case. We had booked well before 08/2021
Would this route work for the Amex offer? Cancel and get a voucher which then can be used for any codeshare/departure country?
No idea, my booking is not related to the Amex voucher; it was one I made a few weeks ago but might need to cancel.

No, because United are no longer offering a blanket voucher refund. Changes are now chargeable beyond North American flights. Also the ability to buy codeshare flights disappeared about a year ago from United.com and on phone
