Evening,
Am completely new to the Avios points scheme, dont know where to start but have been gaining points on an Amex card up to 65000 points and am going Vietnam next April, before I book a flight am I able to use these points with any airline on a possible upgrade ? Think Qatar airlines a possibility from what iv read.
Any help or direction to another part of the forum appreciated please ..
thank you
I would have thought your best route with Avios is to do:
London – Singapore/Hong Kong, and then pay a cash ticket to get to Vietnam.
Qatar & Finnair open up more alternatives though, but I don’t know what they offer – hopefully someone else can advise!
If you wanted to do Avios fully and go on a bit of a de-tour adventure.
London > Singapore
Cross the land border and take the coach from Johor Bahru
Kuala Lumpur > Saigon = 9,000 + £12.
This is exactly the type of answer i needed, i have no clue what im doing.
thank you very much will look into these option,
🙂
an Amex card up to 65000 points
just my 2 cents, might be a bit short on the amex points you have but you may be able to get J on KLM/AF to SIN / SGN / BKK / around that area with less tax & surcharge if you starts from CDG/AMS. KLM/AF website is very easy to find the lowest point required but then you also need to be flexible as there are not many available usually.
