Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

    Hi all

I’m tempted to user Uber flights to booking an upcoming trip due to the credits and – of course – avios for uber spend.

Has anyone done this and did everything go ok? I’m a little nervous as I’d usually book direct with the airline, but in this case there are no particular benefits to booking direct.

Also it asks for frequent flyer programme and I can enter BA but it’s a star alliance flight so no way to credit to avios. Any idea how Ubers system works – ie do you think you’ll only get FF points if you enter the details of a compatible scheme, or is it separate to the airline scheme and points awarded by uber?

Thanks in advance for any guidance

I’m sure many of us have been tempted but were too scared to go through with it.
Therefore, I think you should take one for the team.

Okay, now I am imagining summoning a plane on my phone and being notified that Goran in a Cessna Citation Mustang is 4 minutes away from my house.

Haha! I may well do that then…

Now that would be fun. Didn’t they actually have Uber helicopter in NYC for a while ?!

I have used uber for flights, solely as they had £20 off per passenger on your first flight booking. These were Air Arabia return flights between Bahrain and Abu Dhabi, so it took a fairly significant chunk of a short hop on a (relatively LCC). All went through fine and I got a booking confirmation email from Uber and separately direct from the airline.

I too used it when there was a discount on the first booking. Flew with Vueling – no issues.

Did everyone get the £20 Uber credit for booking a flight? I booked a flight through Uber and travelled in early Jan but no credit has appeared.

No issues with the flights but I didn’t get my £20 credit and now uber are telling me it didn’t exist. Apparently I booked on the 4th Feb and the promo started on 19th Feb.

Infuriating but my fault for not taking screenshots!
