Hi everyone.
Currently have a Amex gold and booked some flights on it. I’m 69 but will be flying when I’m 70.
I spoke to customer services who said I’m covered under travel insurance as the purchase was made when I’m 69, but I was thinking of upgrading to a platinum card.
Last time my son did this, they said that as long as cardholder used an Amex and is now active on a platinum card, they’re covered with the platinum insurance policy.
Anyone shine some light on this if its true?
Mainly getting the platinum for the insurance and customer services this time aren’t giving me a clear answer.
@sunny110 – the gold card doesn’t really offer travel insurance at all and for the Platinum card, to be covered under the medical section you must be under 70 throughout the trip; the time of booking isn’t relevant in this context.
Is there any way we can pay a supplement to get cover?
Or is there another card that’s better?
