Forums Other Destination advice Transport from BOS into the city

Hi all. We are hopefully flying to BOS for 4 days in March, staying at the IC. On our last visit we took the water taxi to the city but this time we arrive at night so it might not be as much fun. I’m being quoted $85 – $100 for a taxi which seems insane for a 2.5 mile journey! Bus and train options look pretty good from Google maps, has anyone used these? TIA.

I’ve done the bus and train option before, absolutely fine although a bit of walking and going up and down stairs / escalators. Depends on how much luggage you have and age composition of your group as to how practical and obviously not nearly as fast a journey as the taxi.

If you are in Boston for any length of time it might be worth getting the $22.50 7 day subway/bus pass which you can buy at the airport.

Anna that doesn’t sound right at all. I paid less than $20 to go to Back Bay and the IC is closer. This was in an Uber.

Just jump in a cab when you get there – they are plentiful. Paid less than $20 to marriott long wharf. Traffic was bad so probably half was waiting.

The silver line bus from the airport would be free to South Station. It’s 5 stops from Logan Terminal E and on dedicated bus ways so quick.

Taxi / Uber will be as other have said around 20 bucks.

There’s an Uber pick up zone at the airport, I arrived on AA on a domestic flight from Miami though.

Thanks – that’s good to hear about taxi/Uber. We are pretty fit and will only have hand luggage so train or bus would be absolutely doable.
The IC wants $145 to send a car for us plus $50 for meet and greet! But I am Northern so this made me choke on my brew.

Train/subway is really easy to use especially if you are just on Hand luggage, but guess it depends on how walkable it is from the station ( googles says 5 minutes?) , and what time of night it will be!
