Ok, I just joined Iberia Plus and I need to transfer some MR points to it in order to validate the account so in the future I can use avios for a reward booking.
Having a problem with this on the Amex website. It says to enter my 8 digit frequent flyer number. My IP number is 14 digits and therefore I am getting error messages. Anyone else encountered this and can offer a solution?
Just checked mine and it is indeed 8 digits (this is an old account opened in 2003).
I can see the number following this link: https://www.iberia.com/gb/iberiaplus/mi-iberia-plus/#!/IBMIBP
Been onto Amex and apparently mine being a new account I can’t do this as they’ve not facilitated it yet (Iberia). My account number is actually 9 digits (first lot were zeros). Until Iberia sort it out for new accounts it’s not possible. Utterly p’ed off.
Sorry to hear that. Maybe you can put some Avios by giving the IBplus account for an Avis rental or similar (I wouldn’t use a real flight and miss the Tier Points but if you fly Europe a lot you can maybe spare 5 TPs).
As you just joined IBplus you wouldn’t be able to send Avios between IB-BA for like 60-90 days I believe.
