Transfer points to Qatar/Avios via Virgin Australia?

Good afternoon! I am planning a trip to the Maldives, currently with BA LHR-MLE and looking at Qatar MLE-MAN with a double points award. I need to add some Avios, which I can easily do from AMEX, however I have 57,000 Virgin miles that I’m unlikely to use (accruing from Tesco) and it would be ideal if I can use those.

I know there’s a transfer route via the hotels, however I was wondering if it’s possible to transfer them to Virgin Australia, then to Qatar, using those partnerships?

No – you can redeem Virgin Australia points on Qatar and Virgin Points on Virgin Australia but that’s not the same as converting/crediting points between the schemes.

The only option is the one you identify and that leads to a x5 dilution of value (better than nothing if you won’t get any value at all otherwise…)
