My gut feeling is “no”, I think Rob did an article on this once upon a time.
Can I transfer to another persons frequent flyer account?
This is a common question – and the answer is ‘No’.
If you can’t do that then you definitely won’t be able to transfer to another Amex account.
If you know where you want the points to end up, and if it’s an airline, you could go via Marriott, as they allow transfers between members, and transfer out to a very long list of airline partners. No way of keeping the points in Amex when combining them.
It used to be possible but was stopped a few years ago.
There are ways around it – Radisson and Nectar transfers don’t (at least didn’t) require name recognition so can be transferred anywhere, whilst BA, Hilton, Marriott allow free transfers, pooling or household accounts.
Marriott transfers from Amex don’t seem to have particularly strict name checking if that helps.
