What I can’t understand is why some people ever set foot on a BA plane, if it’s a bad as they say, then even at any price I wouldn’t touch it
I guess it’s like those people who love anything that’s British and criticise other nations like UAE simply because somehow they feel proud of a low standard at home and don’t appreciate a high standard abroad because it’s fake etc.

Habit, convenience, direct flights, Avios, 241, status. We are happy with BA short haul but now try to avoid long haul whenever possible and wouldn’t even consider BA for those really long routes like EZE/SCL/SYD when there are just so many better options.
The dirtiness is serious and particular to BA. Hard to miss; my wife takes wipes to clean the table etc. Have you seriously never found the remnants of people’s food in your BA bed? Or other bits of personal detritus?

For the crowd in this website is not that difficult to understand is it?
They have Avios and vouchers, and can fly direct with a substantial discount.I have to agree with the majority, the standard of cleanliness in the BA Club cabin leaves a lot to be desired, our worst experience was a half eaten muffin on the floor. Whilst the F&B is generally OK, I’ve complained twice, once about green eggs and once about the cabin crews refusal to carry out the second meal service because we had been delayed. If I was paying cash, BA would be a long way down the list.
Luckily I haven’t come across these issues with BA.
I am not a BA junkie, I’m quite promiscuous in airline choice all based on logic and convenience.
Our normal annual trips.
Mauritius use air Mauritius, direct and don’t do BA Gatwick ying yang which is the only other direct . Air mauritius is Semi refundable at not much premium .
BA to Cape town, direct at time that suits us , over night both ways, use avios
Bi annual Australia, look for best deal, also look for refundable at reasonable premium. Last trip ANA ,
Not sure about the ‘majority’, but i largely agree with Garethgerry. Very few issues with BA, F&B has been pretty good recently and service generally very good. Maybe I’m a pleb and maybe don’t care much about the wine, but it’s way better than economy and great value on Avios 241s, even in CW. I do agree that cleanliness could be better, but never had any major issues. If I was paying cash i might feel differently. I have flown with several US and European airlines and seen little difference between them all. I’ll be experiencing some of the more ‘Eastern’ airlines next year, maybe I’ll have a different view then.
@Garethgerry – if you are really lucky enough not to have come across a seriously dirty BA aircraft in recent years, you have a couple of options – 1) go to Specsavers, if they haven’t already sold you a pair of rose tinted glasses or 2) buy a lottery ticket.
This is quite interesting.
Before Covid, I occasionally found dirty seats on BA in club world, but not often. There was so much fuss about cabin cleaning during and shortly after Covid. I wonder what happened to BA’s cleaning commitments. The club seats were dirty in 4 out of 5 long haul flights I had with BA last year. How much costs would it save to just skip cleaning the cabin? It can’t be that much. Or are the cleaning subcontractors doing a worse job than before?@JDB PMSL. Contrast to the Avianca, Latam. Copa and Sky flights I’ve taken in recent weeks which were all spotless. The two Copa flights I took even had the seatbelts nicely folded rathe than being a tangled mess.
Copa is an airline that quite obviously cares about its brand and presentation. Sky too for all its comparisons with Ryanair

Yes, it does seem to be a peculiarly BA problem and it seems very strange not to look after the interiors of these very valuable aircraft. BA also seems to create a vicious circle in that people can see how dirty everything is so don’t mind adding to that rather than picking up rubbish or wiping a spillage.
@ZW – BA did embark on a one off deep clean a few years back, but has now reverted to minimal cleaning. They appear to use far smaller cleaning crews than competitors and would appear to have no cleaning protocols or, if they do, they are either inadequate or not properly supervised. The empirical evidence would suggest that tables and beds never get opened for cleaning, even on a periodic basis. Cabin crew must be aware but few seem interested in their jobs so they don’t really care. Cabin crew is responsible for inflight cleaning and as BA operates vast Club cabins with too few loos and too few cabin crew to clean them, that gives a bad outcome for passengers. Queuing for a dirty loo is another BA speciality.
@davefl – hope your SAm odyssey now in Chile ? is going well?@davefl – hope your SAm odyssey now in Chile ? is going well?
Much better now thank you. The next trip update will be up as soon as I’ve uploaded photos. Nicely lubricated with the Carmenere in the Santiago IC lounge. Next stop El Calafete/El Chalten where it’s bloody freezing compared to here. 16C vs 34C.

It’s sad that like many keyboard warriers you won’t accept that other people have different experiences. I don’t know what the equivalent of Specsavers is for online , manners but perhaps you should investigate
