I have confirmation ( after a complaint from myself )that I will receive the 50000 sign up bonus next month. I have asked whether I need to wait for the transfer before changing my card for the non fee paying one and I await the advice. I have used the Avios plus card through the executive club shopping portal to make a booking through booking.com which will be paid in a years time. Now I think I have to use the Avios card I booked it with to pay for the break next year in order to qualify for the x8 points per pound but I’m not sure – can I use my new card for that purpose or should I cancel and rebook with the replacement card ? Hope that all makes sense 🤣
The transaction is linked to your BAEC number, not your credit card, from a bonus avios earning perspective via the portal so I expect you’d earn whichever card eventually was used to pay. That being said, although I have quite a high success rate with BA shopping points, a lot of HfPers say they rarely ever receive what they are owed, so don’t hold your breath!
