Have Amex sorted out the issue of the delays for supplementary card bonus points posting , I heard that some people have waited over 90 days for them
Just add a sup member under my gold reward card , how long do you think I’ll have to wait for the points to post
I waited until after 90 days had elaspsed and called , the agent did it there and then whilst I was on the phone. To be fair they had no where else to go at that stage – pretty shoddy service for something that was automatic for many years.
No they haven’t, certainly in my recent experience. It’s all been a bit shoddy for supplemental cardholder bonus points, they won’t do anything until the 90 days has elapsed. I’m chasing a bonus on my Bonvoy – 90 days is up tomorrow so I will be straight on the phone chasing it.
I think a lot of these supp points don’t post because of the rule (at least on PRG and Bonvoy) that people forget – that you can’t receive the bonus if you have ever received it before.

Wait till 90+1. At 90 days they do it there and then. Wait 90+1 and they are in breach of T&C and you can press the issue for some sort of apology and goodwill gesture for your time (in the form of extra points).
If enough people make this financially difficult for AMEX maybe they’ll go back to doing things properly and actually giving the points they’re meant to early on.

Previous Plat card had to wait 90+1 day before posting after requesting on chat (last week). New plat card (player 2) added supplementary and points posted immediately. Looks like a fix for new cards but not for legacy.

Amex platinum 5000 didn’t post after 90 days. I contacted them on chat through the app and they added them straight away.

Is this definitely the case with platinum. It just seems to reference online your first supplementary card holder. I currently have no supplementary card holders on this account, but did in the past. I guess I am not eligible?

Thanks. All the ‘first’ stuff is ambiguous as in the first time ever adding a supplementary card, or the first supplementary card added after a point from which you have none. But the ‘You will not receive this bonus if you have ever received it before’ is more straight forward. Although again, as those bonuses vary from time to time, I guess there is ambiguity. E.g. what if you earned a 2,000 bonus for a supplementary card 5 years ago, perhaps that is not counted as ‘this bonus’. It is clear the intention is that you shouldn’t get twice.
Despite all I’ve just said, turns out I did get it.
Took over 90 days to get sup card points, I contacted via chat at under 90 days and they told me they can’t do anything as it can take up to 90 days.
Once past 90 days I contacted chat and they immediately gave me the points
We’ve added supps to two accounts this week and the points have posted immediately.
I was told 120 days when I enquired about my missing one after 30 days and have qualified for the SUB as well. Eventually at 130 days I started a chat, and they credited the points there and then.
Ongoing saga:
Contacted on chat after a few weeks of adding a Marriott supp card. Got them to guarantee in writing they’d arrive before 90 days.Shock: 90 days came and went. No points.
Contacted on chat, added immediately. Asked for a goodwill gesture given I was promised they’d arrive.
Said they don’t do goodwill gestures. Pointed out I knew this was not true as I’ve been given one before. They stuck to their line. Asked for a manager. Manager said they don’t do goodwill gestures. I pushed back; offered me 300 points (C.£1). Said I was insulted at such a ridiculous offer, AMEX breaking 90 days in T&C and having been told they could not over goodwill gestures before being offered one!
Called UK rep. Offered me 5000 Marriott, promised it would arrive in 24 hrs.
48 hours later, no points. Called UK rep, asked to wait 7 days.
7 days later, no points.
Called again. Told they need to check, needs to go to back office, could take 10 days…
