Im flying back from Vegas in October, Direct BA on the way out but on the way back its an AA flight (via BA codeshare)
from Vegas to Pheonix then on to Heathrow.
The problem is that the return was originally scheduled to land in Pheonix at 16:25 then to catch the 18:00 back to Heathrow. I got an email to say they have changed our flight and it now will depart LV at 16:25 and will land at 17:38 with the connecting flight at 18:04. This gives us almost no time to get to the gate (especially as there is even the tinyiest of delays pre LV departure)
The flights are from the same terminal but I still dont think we will make it.
But I wouldnt have expected the airlines to allow such a tight turnaround because it will be at their expense.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I’m guessing this has just happened?
Gve it a day or two for the bots to look into this and you’ll be rebooked onto somethign that does meet the MCT.
Basically when a flight is cancelled you get immediatly rebooked for the cancelled flight and then any connections issues get resolved in a day or two
You’ve got no chance even if the gates were next to each other which they wont be.. Boarding for the LHR flight will have closed by the time you get off the inbound, even if you’re sitting in 1A and also your luggage would have no chance of making it, even though both AA flights are going to be in and out of T4.
Since it’s a clear misconnect now, you should have the right of cancellation and rebook or refund. Talk to AA or BA, whoever you’re ticketed with.
Thanks for your replies.
UPDATE:
So I wasnt automatically rerouted after the bots gave me the silly connection.
I called and managed to rebook for a different stopover but more realistic.
HOWEVER this has now changed and the departing flight now takes off later which means now we dont have enough time for our connection again! Not to mention its actually completely differnt terminals this time so even more impossible with a 45 minute layover.
I need to call BA again… What are my hopes of telling them to get me on a direct flight. Would they flat out refuse as the original booking was a stopover flight?
Mostly in my experience airlines will allow anything that works. You don’t say when this is, because AA make endless changes, so if it’s months away I’d ignore it. If you react to every change you spend time fixing things they’ll just break agin.
