On the recent topics page, the date and name of original poster can be removed as they don’t seem important.
Also the sub forum label can be displayed above the topic label (instead of below) – so that people can move past the topic if they are not interested in it.
Random question, does anyone know of a broadband provider that allows payment by card? I know Vodafone does, but looking to move away from them.
I agree the name could go although doing this for just one forum is not ideal – it should be done globally or not at all. Over time, certain people will get a reputation for asking interesting / stupid questions and you may end up deciding whether or not to open a thread based on the poster.
The date of the original post has value because you can see if its a new thread or someone rehashing an old one (which may make you less likely to read it).
I’ve no real opinion on whether the sub-forum name should sit! My gut feel is that anyone navigating via ‘Recent Topics’ is interested in all forums, however, and so won’t be rejecting any topic based on the original forum it sits in.
Unlike, say, Flyertalk or other more bloated forums, most people who are UK based doing quite a bit of travel should have some interest in all of our sub-forums.
