Early in 2022 Hilton launched a status match for other hotel brands, I was matched from IHG Diamond to Hilton Diamond, a very fruitful choice I have to say. Is there any way of repeating this once more for 2024, I have several one night stays planned at Hamptons in the new year, could be perfect timing…
Any guidence would be helpful,
ThanksMy experience is the match is a one time deal and if you want to match again you’ll need a completely new Hilton account and hope they don’t check to see if the ihg account has had a status match before.
Other than a few extra points, what would be the benefit of being diamond for stays at Hamptons?
I only stayed at Hamptons to collect the necessary number of nights in three months back in 2022, I’ve since used the Diamond status for Hilton, Waldorf and Canopy stays for all those great benefits.
You said you wanted to keep diamond because you are going to stay in Hamptons next year.
Anyway your status is valid until 31 March unless it was a time limited match.
The point of status matching is to get you to change chains. If you didn’t meet the Hilton criteria to retain, but continued to meet the IHG criteria (albeit IHG status was renewed for many people anyway) then there is no value to Hilton in matching you again
Status get’s likes of higher floor, corner rooms at Hamptons. And one I stayed at did not mind if you stuck your hand in their cookie jars every day.
