    I registered for this immediately on 18th May , using Hilton Gold as my other hotel status.
    I am still Club, not the promised Diamond. Have I misunderstood this promotion?
    I have just rung the IHG One number to be told that I have to earn 5 nights first .

    As I understood, it’s an initial upgrade to platinum elite, then you have to do the 5 nights within 120 days to keep your Platinum, and then an additional 10 nights within the 120 days to get to diamond.

    There have been several people not changed from club – me included. I called and was told there is a glitch and they would call/email me back when it was fixed. Unsurprisingly, I haven’t heard. Last thing I read on the thread was that someone had been told it was USA from 18th May the rest of us for 1st June.

    I’ve screen-shotted the T+Cs just in case…. It doesn’t really affect me as I’ve only one upcoming stay which is arriving rally late and leaving early, so will just be sleeping but I can imagine this is VERY frustrating for those who have more booked.

    I’d like to have the chance of an upgrade as its better than no chance, even if it doesnt happen.

    Sounds like you got a duff agent.

    You should have been made up to Platinum after registering, with 120 days to lock it in (though people say it shows as Plat till 31/12).

    You won’t get Diamond until after putting in 15 nights, but if your status is still showing Club you should try calling again or emailing.

    I am also struggling with the IHG status challenge as described by the other posters.

    I’ve now had three very frustrating conversations with IHG agents. One told me they’d escalated to IT and I’d hear back within 48hrs. Another said I had to wait until 1st June as I’m in the UK and the third said I would have to wait until my first 5 nights posted. Then said the offer terms states 4-6 weeks (which it doesn’t).

    The agents are completely unaware of the offer and it’s terms and even when explained to them are unable to resolve the problem.

    As far as I can see the terms of the offer are very clear and I can’t understand why it is so hard to get sorted.

    After this post yesterday I decided to contact IHG rewards via DM on Twitter, to find out what was going on. I woke up this morning to a lovely message apologising and saying its all sorted and yep my status shows as platinum now. Worth a try..

    Maybe time for another message saying you know someone having the same problem which has been fixed? Or try late at night??? I sent my message about 11pm last night and the ‘fixed it’ message came through at 2.30am according to my phone.

    I am unable to show a screenshot as it had all my personal info on !
    I am not twitter literate generally . I sent a message through twitter to IHG One Rewards explaining problem . One message back to me for me to confirm identity and it was done .
    No agent name seen .

    No idea what happened but overnight I have finally made it to Platinum Elite, no reply via Twitter or anything.

    I also applied on the 18th and my status didn’t update straight away.

    Just checked the app, and I am now Platinum Elite – no chasing required.

    It just happens that an IHG hotel is going to be a good choice for an upcoming 2-week stay, even if I had no status at all and there was no status challenge.

    But I’m currently platinum and I thought it wouldn’t work. I don’t want to make a new account because I still have the creation credit card. However, when I signed into the IHG app today, this status challenge somehow popped up and seemed to be directed to me personally, so I registered. I wonder if it will work to make me diamond after my 15 nights?
