Forums Other London life Stansted Express with a Network Railcard

Seems I’m unable to get any discount when adding a railcard for Stansted Express tickets through Trainline.com. The price doesn’t change at all when I select my railcard. Has there been a change?
£23.90 for a train to the the airport… You’ve lost the plot, Britain.

Theres an aeticle on the Stanstead Express (not abbreviating that the same way we do HEX and GEX!) where railcard validity gets a mention so have a look for that.

What does it come up with if you use the national raiil enquiries and the anglia trains websites?

Same thing for the Anglia trains wesbsite. No discount applied.

Are you getting caught out by the 10am Network Railcard restriction perhaps?

As @aseftel has suggested, £23.90 is the full fare. £15.90 after 1000 Mon – Fri and all day weekends with Network Railcard.

Ah, that makes sense. I didn’t even know that. Thanks so much for clarifying!

More importantly, why are you buying a rail ticket from Trainline when you can get a rebate/points by using your:-

    Amex card at LNER.
Barclaycard or Virgin Card at Virgin Trains Ticketing.
Any Visa or Mastercard at LNER with Airtime Rewards.

And countless other variations with various TOCs, and banks.
