So we are for South Africa next Friday. Have booked hotels either directly or via booking. Despite stating free cancellation, they all appear to make full payment 14 days out. My experience with various hotels is consistently this. Given that SA still hasn’t Removed a negative PCR requirement for vaccinated visitors, this feels like a gamble. Has anyone else had this issue?
Hello! I’ve just returned from South Africa. Chains like the Taj and Hyatt did not do this but a smaller independently owned property booked on booking.com did. I was not concerned as the cancellation terms on booking.com were clear in the confirmation email and I had used a credit card. I hope you have a good time, this was my first visit and I loved it!
