South Africa at end November and beginning of December

Another random question. I’m used to the USA where ice machines are in every hotel. Intend taking a small collapsible cooler for prescription stuff and food. I’ll be mainly staying in guest houses as there’s limited hotel availability in the regions.

What’s it like in SA for getting small quantities of ice? I don’t need a big party bag of the stuff from a supermarket.

I would recommend staying in an apartment at the V&A Waterfront – you can find them on Booking.com / Airbnb etc but there are also dedicated agencies such as waterfrontvillage.com The complex is really secure and right next to the One and Only and V&A Waterfront so a great location. We went for dinner at the Pier Restaurant, which is a La Colombe restaurant, last NYE which was fab. We had a front row view for the fireworks and the bonus that we could easily walk to and from it.
