Hi all, hoping someone can help here.
I am currently FC Gold thanks to the BA status match earlier this year. I was wondering if the soft landing to silver applies to matched statuses or just to “properly” earned status? My expectation is that i won’t have enough tier points at renewal to earn silver status outright.
From the terms at https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/flying-club/members/status-match.html:
Your Flying Club Gold or Silver membership is valid for 12 months from the date your account is upgraded. Gold members need to earn 1000 tier points in the membership period to keep their Gold status. Silver members need to earn 400 tier points in the membership period to keep their Silver status.
My expectation, on reading that and from previous anecdotal experience, is that there is no soft landing for non-organic status holders, but it could be read either way.
Thanks @AL, i suspect you are correct as there is no mention of a soft landing there (which there is in the regular FC T&C’s).
My VS gold status match dropped me like a falling anvil to the bottom of the pecking order the day after it expired. No soft landing.
