I’ve a stash of Sindbad points. I’m guessing these will end up be converted to avios after Oman joins Oneworld if i do nothing.
Is it a risk to hold onto them are there risk of being wiped out or a devaluation. If so which is best partner to transfer points to?
No they won’t be converted to avios when Oman joins OW. They will still be Oman points.
There isn’t a single OW points “currency”. Airlines aren’t forced to make avios their currency.
The best partner to transfer is likely to be a hotel. Airlinw tend not to do that.you need to read the Oman website to see which is the best option.
It will be easier to earn Sindbad points from other flights when WY joins oneworld, and then maybe you will be able to accumulate enough for a flight redemption. You would be able to redeem them on other oneworld airlines, but this may be difficult in practice if they don’t open up availability (which they are already doing to some extent).
