We are planning a week long break to Sicily, would be grateful for any advice on best area to stay (flying into Catania). Hotels v Airbnb?
Do you think we should hire a car or is it fairly easy to get around the island?
I would definitely hire a car. It is relatively easy to drive between places. I also flew into Catania. Taormina is also nice, as is Syracuse, both of which are easy to drive to from Catania. Noto is also worth visiting. I never got as far as Messina or Palermo. I stayed in Syracuse but I don’t know if the hotel is open still so don’t have any to recommend.
