Can anyone recommend a moderately priced hotel with a regular airport shuttle close to San Francisco (SFO) airport as I need to stay for only 1 night between flights. I would like to spend no more than £150.

We looked for an overnight hotel with a shuttle at SFO for last October and found that many of the shuttle routes had been suspended because of Covid. The most reasonably priced “points” hotels at the time with free shuttles were the Hyatt Regency and the Aloft. They both had the advantage of being next to the Bay for a pleasant walk in the fresh air after / before flight connections. We chose the Aloft for very mundane practical points reasons but I suspect the Hyatt would be nicer. I think the prices vary considerably depending on the exact date.

I stayed at “Bay Landing” after a trip around California, was pleasant enough for a one night stay before a flight. I paid £90 for a double room but I dont know if prices were lower due to traveling in September ’21.

I agree with Lyn though, the “Bay” area is nice. Great view of landing planes and nice waterfront. There is a choice of Marriot / Holiday Inn etc… all along that stretch. If you neded to take a Taxi to the airport, it would be v.quick.

There are a fair few south of the airport sandwiched between the Bay and the 101, including those mentioned above as well as Hilton, Marriott, Doubletree and Crowe Plaza.

Bit of an odd area, airport hotels interspersed with industrial units and a couple of new office buildings for Meta. Not much food wise which isn’t surprising.

If you are looking for food. A quick Uber away (probably 10 mins max) is Burlingame which has a nice downtown area with decent shops and restaurants. Slightly further afield is Hillsdale Mall which contains the usual places you’d expect to find in an American mall (Cheesecake Factory, Shake Shack etc). If you like beer Fieldwork would be worth checking out.
