Hi,
I was on a Ryanair flight that was delayed 20 hours.
The flight was from Perugia (PEG) to London Stansted (STN) on 25 August. Flight number FR4953.
I filed an EU261 compensation claim that they denied as they claim the delay was due to ‘adverse weather conditions’. I asked for proof that the cause of the delay was actually adverse weather conditions but they ignored me.
How can I find out the actual reason for the delay and if they are not telling the truth, how can I proceed with the claim?
Thanks
If Ryanair doesn’t provide any proof you can go to AviationADR who will arbitrate but obviously it’s possible there were genuine ‘extraordinary circumstances’ such that no compensation is owed. Whatever the reason they still owe you for any food/accommodation/telephone costs incurred.
