Reward night points reduction after booking

DP – Reviewed some point bookings for November stays and the number of points for same room type were reduced. Contacted Diamond line and they credited the difference to my account leaving the bookings as is. As others have said previously you cannot modify reward bookings despite what it says on individual bookings. I didn’t want to cancel and rebook and didn’t have enough points to do it the other way around. Was 25000 points difference in total so well worth it.

Things are sometimes possible with IHG, there’s no rhyme or reason to it! I managed to change the dates of 2 expired Creation free night bookings recently, despite many posters here having found it impossible previously.
