Hi , I have a Amex card and have just referred a friend for the first time to join Amex.
They clicked through the link I sent them and have been approved and have received there card , when will I get the referral points , also I didn’t get any kind of notification that I have referred someone and due the points , is this norm ?
Yep, that’s normal. No notification is sent to the person making the referral. Your points should post within 48 hours (at least that’s always been my experience).
IME they usually post within one day either side of referee receiving their card so 48h about right normally. Very rarely, I’ve waited longer, about 1-2 weeks.

I had a notification recently by email and it confirms the no. of points
My recent experience using my Amex Platinum referrals (24k MR for each approved referral), the bonus posted the day after the person was approved, Card probably just posted.
Additional cardholder bonus post around 120 days after card issued 🤦🏻♂️
