QR return to Oz reward flight….what am I doing wrong?

Searching for such a thing and I am obviously missing something. It should be 180k points for a return. I am getting 360k return coming up plus well over £1k in taxes. This is admittedly in Feb next year but if they are peak it wouldn’t usually be 2x the points surely?

I think I read somewhere that QR has the option to pay double to open up reward seats or something like that.

QR has the option to pay double the points when standard redemption availability runs out

I’ve looked at a wide range of dates now and nothing available under standard, even from other European departure points! No way would I use 2x the points.
That’s that idea bitten the dust then.

You can search using AA with month calendar. Standard redemption should show
