We are going round the world on Oneworld airlines so will get quite a few tier points. Only one of the sectors is on BA so we wouldn’t qualify for silver without enough ba/iberia flights, but we do have 4 sectors on Qatar. Should I change our bookings to add our Qatar membership numbers instead of BA and try and get status that way? Any advantages / disadvantages in doing that?
Can you not take the odd domestic flight to meet the BA flight requirement?
After you gain status, which airlines are you more likely to use the benefits on? If you are likely to fly on BA a lot it may be better to have BA status, but if you will fly with QR more then QR status would be more useful.
There is an ongoing issue where it can be difficult to add non-QR status to QR flights (due to instances of fraudulent statuses being added)
Do you intend to maintain the status going forward or is it sort of a one-time thing?
