    Hi team,

Just booked an Avios redemption flying QR from BKK-DOH-MAN. I’ve been able to book First (Z) on the A388 from BKK-DOH and then the “standard” Q-Suite on the 77W from DOH-MAN.

When transitting – I have 07:45hr between flights at DOH – will I have access to the Al Safwa First Lounge? Flying QR but starting in BKK it will be a shame not to be able to experience the First experience also in DOH!?

Yes but might depend on the lounge agent you encounter. They used to insist that the incoming F flight had to have been longer than 5hrs to quality for Al Safwa lounge prior to the J onward flight. That has quietly been disregarded. Either way, Al Safwa has taken a downturn in food quality and in drinks prestige (though that is list on me I’m afraid) so many are simply preferring to go straight to the temporary Al Mourjan rather than waste time schlepping to Al Safwa and arguing the toss with a lounge dragon. Obvs goes without saying, keep your F boarding pass to hand.

Yes you will have access to Al Safwa and it’s worth visiting on a long layover, especially with the private bedrooms. The new Al Mourjan Garden lounge is opening imminently, so you can lounge hop and visit that too if you wish.

That’s great. Really looking forward to experiencing the first and new business lounge… thanks for the heads-up!

Should be fine, also if you are a drinker go for the rose champagne in al safwa, the brut is normal lp but rose is a vintage and was really nice. Worth checking both out, i found al safwa very quiet and not much atmosphere but a great lounge neverthless

They were serving Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame last time I was there.
