Qatar points from other people’s bookings

Hi all,

I have an Avios booking to Asia via Qatar already booked.

My friend now wants to join me on a cash ticket but isn’t worried about collecting the points.

I’ll sign him up for an Avios account before booking but is there any way for me to earn his points on my account, ie through a household account or similar? And would I need to book it under my credit card?

I see they offer a Family account but it looks like you actually have to be related for that to work?

Also, is there any referral bonus for signing him for the Avios/QMiles account?

If it makes anhy difference, the flight is to Seoul and return from HKG, both via Doha. I’m business, he is mulling between economy and business, or possibly half and half.

There is a 5k bonus after your first flight still running I think – should show online.

Get them signed up – worse case scenario is that you can move their points to BA and form a HHA with them in BA to use them (or just redeem from their account).
