If I look atthe HSBC mastercard thread (HERE) it shows 26 pages. but when I click into the chat there are only 25 pages?
I cannot work out how to post a screen shots to show you
I’ve noticed the same thing on other long thread, such as the Platinum retention offer thread. Sometimes it’ll show 35 pages, but when you click on page 35, it comes up blank, but if you go to page 34, it will show the actual latest post.
I think the forum software creates a new page when the old one is full, it’s blank because it’s waiting for the next post. I’ve noticed it a few times.
Yes, its a bit odd and I don’t know why this happens. It has never been patched by the developers so I’ve always assumed there is some logical reason for it.
I always thought it was when there were enough posts to make it to the next page, but one was stuck in moderation.
I.e. it’s counting total posts to determine the number of pages created, instead of counting posted posts.

Yes, sometimes when a post of mine goes into the mod queue, I notice a new page is created with 0 posts
The issue is when this happens is there’s no previous page of posts quick link so you have to click back and go into a different page which can be slightly tricky with fat fingers and a phone
Btw happening on the unreported button post as I type and can’t be anything in moderation as it’s been like that for ages.
