I am on only 160 tier points and was planning to make 2 short BA business class trips to retain British Airways silver for next year, however given the recent TP changes I decided to quit BA altogether.
I recently got my existing silver status matched to KLM Flying Blue Gold via their current status match £99 offer.
Now I noticed Royal Jordanian allows status match to the equivalent of one world Sapphire (so BA silver equivalent) from Flying blue.
My question is, if I apply for this status match let’s say in March, will I even be able to get it given I got my flying blue status via a match? And what keeps people from constantly rerolling their status this way without taking any flights whatsoever (apart from lack of status match offers which obviously aren’t always guaranteed)? Or do they actually check how you obtained the status (although it doesn’t seem to be shown anywhere near my Flying Blue gold card online so not sure how they would do it.
Any thoughts on this?
Both status match offers are run by statusmatch.com
This means you cannot use a matched status via them to earn another matched status elsewhere. You would not be able to match your KLM status to RJ.
Even if you could, there is no guarantee the status match would be up and running still in March.
If I applied for the match and didn’t get accepted would they refund me? Or would I lose the £$150?
They usually warn you before you submit. I had this with the Lufthansa status match not long ago. It flashed up a warning that the status was not earned via flying, presumably as they knew they’d matched that status before.
