Platinum selected benefit

Happy new year to everyone in HFP. I have achieved my platinum status and now need to choose between 5 suite nights or elite nights.

May i asked if I choose the 5 elite nights as platinum benefit (after 7 Jan) would it counts towards as overall elite night of 2024? Currently it been shown as if i select it now before 7 Jan it will counts as total elite nights of 2023. Please kindly share your view on this as i dont think the suite nights upgrade is good as no guarantee.

I haven’t qualified this year (as I’m Lifetime Platinum now anyway) but, when I hit 50 nights in 2022, the elite nights counted only in 2022 and not 2023. I haven’t seen any program changes to think it’s any different now.

I think the theory is that you qualify for Platinum then you get an extra 5 elite nights to set yourself up for qualifying for Titanium in that same year. (Or 5 extra elite nights towards your Lifetime status.)

I’d take the upgrades as your 5 elite nights option sounds pointless for you now they won’t count for 2024.

@E is correct – it does say somewhere in the process that the Elite Nights count in the year they were earned, not the year they are selected.

Unless you had 70-74 nights last year, and the extra 5 would move you up to Titanium, then just go for the Suite Night Awards. The other options are essentially value-less.

That’s correct, the 5 nights will be added to your 2023 count. It would only now be useful for adding to your lifetime nights. If you don’t choose anything, you will get the 5 suite night upgrades automatically.
