Can we ask for a plastic version of the personal plat?
You can ask, sure…
Will you get one? No. Best option (if you don’t want the weight) is to use Apple or Google Pay. Not ideal, but think that is what you are left with.
Amusingly Mrs Froggee is the primary cardholder and has plastic whereas they sent me a metal one when she added me to her account a few weeks after signing up. I tell her metal is rubbish but all she sees is the bling.
You used to be able to get a green card, in plastic. I wonder, now there is no ‘regular’ green card, if this has been withdrawn? I used to have one and liked it — I’ve always thought the classic green look was lovely, and really disliked the platinum, which manages to look both cheap and ostentatious at the same time.
I hate metal cards.
To get a lighter plastic one (at least used to work) apply for a supplementary/additional card in your own name using the relationship ‘other’. I always do this with all cards as it is an additional card for offers.

The revamped ‘regular’ Green Card is even more impressive, I have one. It’s a lighter shade of green with the same looks as the still newish PRG card.
You can ask for an AC card in your name – which will come as plastic (much to my annoyance as I like the quality of the metal card) – an AC card is also useful as it comes with its own offers.

Do you then add the additional card to the same account as the main card?

I don’t, but I believe that you can.

Havent they stopped issuing the Green card? Are you referring to the business / corporate ones?

No. I’ve had the Green card for a couple of years, so continues for me and when I discovered that the card design had been revamped I requested a replacement card to replace my damaged one via the app.
