So I’ve had my plat now for just over a month and my fee hit the card today, but at the annual charge of £575
Prior to applying, I did call to find out when I cancelled my gold card to ensure I was eligible for the welcome bonus, but I also asked how the fee works, and the agent told me it is now charged per month, which is quite appealing rather than dropping £575 straight away.
I called CS today and was told that was only if an offer was available, but that wasn’t what I was told, so I have given them the date and time and asked them to listen back to the call recording.
Had this happened to anyone else?
Default is annual in advance, so the agent you first spoke to is wrong. If you tell them you want to now cancel as don’t want to pay annually I’m 100% certain they will buckle and allow you to switch to monthly. It’s not openly advertised.
Thanks Steve. I’ll see what they say when they get back to me.
I don’t mind paying it advance but they shouldn’t be telling people it will be charged monthly it isn’t!
I had the same issue , was told that once my first statement came through I could switch to monthly billing , first statement came and I called CS in Brighton to be told it can’t be done (even though giving them the details of the convo I had on the phone) after escalating to exec office they said you can switch to monthly after 3 months of having card (this is to do with the sign up bonus) and then getting a pro rata refund
