Ahoy! I’m off to Paris on Saturday and wondered if anyone had any good value recommendations for restaurants part of the Platinum Dining benefit?
Ta x
We did Aux Pres (27 rue du Dragon, Paris, 75006) last year in between the olympics/paralympics and it was a nice little place. Bistro style food with lots of options for meat/fish/veggie. For 2 of us including a bottle of wine, I think it came out to just over £100.
I went to Les Jardins du Presbourg (Arc du triomphe), mainly as it was near to were I was staying. Bizarrely the wait stuff were lovely!
I was dining alone I think I just had a main, side, glass of wine ~€65.
I’d describe it as a “solid option”
We did breakfast in Le Train Bleu in Gare de Lyon, because we had a morning train and I was fascinated to see inside the place. Breakfast for 4 was well under £100, but it did get busy later on so go early or expect to queue.
We did Mun (Asian, heavily sushi).
Upsides: open 7 days for lunch and dinner (shockingly rare in Paris), easy to reach on Champs Elsyses, top floor so a bit of a view, menu in English
Downsides: none, to be fair!
Awakening this thread from its slumber.
Been to Paris many, many times. Going in a few weeks, just for a day trip with my sister (only £70 return). Still have my £100 of overseas Amex dining credit to use before 30th June.
Any sensibly priced “normal” cafes, bistros, restaurants to recommend please? I usually use my credits at The Ivy in the UK and at Block Steak House and Alex coffee shops in Germany – just normal eateries.
Any suggestions in central Paris greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Grand Brasserie?
My son and I ate well (and it was filling!) off the main menu in December, but the prix-fixe at lunchtime was incredible value. I think €30 for 2 dishes?
