Forums Payment cards American Express Platinum benefits – Avis Presidents Club

  • 216 posts

I hope someone can help me with this. I am already enrolled in Avis Preferred and as I have the Amex Platinum want to register for the Presidents Club for the extra benefits. When I log in to my Amex account and go to my member benefits, there is a link to enrol into the Presidents Club. This link takes you to an Avis page which tries to get you enrolled in Avis preferred, no other options. If I try that route I get stuck at a page to enter my credit card details which, upon entering, keeps on asking for a billing address even though I’ve ticked the same as contact address box. If I enter a billing address, it won’t allow me to enter country and then says ‘missing country’ when I save it. This makes it impossible to submit the form. Does anyone know another way of signing up for the Presidents Club via Amex?

The Amex link presumes you are not already a member of Avis. You need to contact Amex to link your Platinum benefits to an existing Avis account.

I had to contact Avis directly and after searching on forums found the below form to complete it, It was delayed as I also needed to link my Amex platinum card to my Avis account. You can still use an alternative card to pay – when booking abroad try and use a no fee fx exchange credit card. Avis updated my account within 48 hours.

@BOSSMANTRAVELS that’s brill, far simpler. You would’ve thought Amex would actively know about that link and point customers that way 🤦

so I only need to complete the link?

I don’t need to contact Amex to link my Preferred with Platinum?

    Thanks!

I think I am far too suspicious of the domain, which is not registered to the same address as avis.com to be telling a third-party my account details.
