My freebie card has just arrived. Not sure if I will use it but seems to have benefits,
Cashback…free foreign exchange.. etc.

I use mine for business spend that I can’t put through Amex. The 0.5% isn’t that exciting, but at least it’s simple. Every so often the cashback jumps to 1% but I don’t seem to get notifications that it’s happening or when the end date is for promotions like that. My business has about 40% of it’s sales being paid via PayPal, so it’s convenient to be able to spend on the card to save me transferring the cash over to my business bank.
I wasn’t aware of the fee free FX, or perhaps I ignored it since PayPal’s FX rates are usually terrible. In the past when I’ve done foreign payments using the card it has been through Curve.
I assume, as a proper business card, paying HMRC is out of the question?
I can’t remember if I tried it, to be honest. It does have “business” written on it, so I assume that means it would attract a business debit fee.
Does it tell you about the fee before you make a payment? I can check next time I’m paying my VAT bill.
