Booked surprise (for my hubby) Business Class seats MAN/MCO at the start of the year paid in full via Aer Lingus web site. A seat sale has now landed, exact same dates & flight, £600 fare difference.
T&C indicate I can cancel and take a travel voucher, however having read reviews via various channels they are lots of complaints in not receiving a voucher allowing for future travel.
My question is, has any Head for Points members successfully claimed a travel voucher?
My hubby & I still wish to travel on the same dates/flights however I am reluctant to cancel and rebook paying in full, with anticipation a voucher lands allowing us to use in the future, all advise greatly appreciated, thanks
This happens all the time. You pay a fare and then a sale appears at a better price. This is the downside of buying quite far ahead. My view is if you were happy to pay what you did just stick with what you paid. The hassle involved in trying to get a voucher wouldn’t be worth it.
Thank you AJA appreciate your wise words, will take your advice & stick with what we have. Never travelled with this carrier so fingers crossed to experience some warm Irish charm.
Don’t get too excited on the Irish hospitality bit. Whilst my experience with them a couple of years ago MAN-MCO was very good and we were well looked after, you’re actually flying with Belfast HQ’d Aer Lingus UK and I believe they have a cabin crew base at Manchester.
